Cayenne

Fruit of the Capsicum annuum plant in the Solanaceae family, along with chile pepper.

Health Powers: Eliminates gas from the stomach and intestines; soothes sore throat, cold and flu symptoms; increases metabolism for weight control.

Maybe you already knew about the benefits of cayenne, but I didn’t know it could help with sore throat and cold symptoms. Add in weight control and my husband takes it for his heart and you have a very useful spice in your kitchen.
